Neil Warnock hit by three FA charges for Chelsea referee rant

Neil Warnock has been hit with a TREBLE whammy by the Football Assiciation.

Cardiff boss Warnock has been charged with three breaches of the FA’s rules on implying bias in match officials.

The charges follow Warnock’s angry rant about referee Craig Pawson and his officials after Cardiff lost to Chelsea with Cesar Azpilicueta scoring a goal which TV replays showed was offside.

Warnock confronted the officials at the end of the hand but escaped punishment but is in trouble for three separate interviews to the BBC, talkSPORT and Sky.

The FA statement reads: “It is alleged that comments he made in a post-match interview with the BBC, and a post-match interview with Sky Sports, following the Premier League game against Chelsea on 31 March 2019, were improper in that they questioned the integrity of the Match Official and/or implied bias.

"It is further alleged that comments he made in a talkSPORT radio interview on 01 April 2019 constitute improper conduct and/or bring the game into disrepute.”

Warnock said at the time: “Against the big teams, you have to have VAR because you don't get the big decisions. The equalising goal is the winning goal really, and if you can't see across the line and see offside I don't know why we are in the game.”

Warnock has a long track record of FA bust-ups and could face a fine for his latest rant.
