Neil Warnock fumes at Cardiff City's 'naive' and 'immature' defending after conceding equaliser against Fulham

Neil Warnock fumed at his side's immature defending after the manner in which Cardiff City conceded the equaliser in the draw with Fulham.

The cheers had barely died down following Josh Murphy's opener, Cardiff City Stadium was raucous when Robert Glatzel went close just seconds later.

But Fulham immediately broke down the other end and the Bluebirds ended up conceding an extremely sloppy goal when Aleksandar Mitrovic tucked home unmarked at the back post.

The Serb's goal was enough to earn the visitors an equaliser and the manager was left ruing the loss of two points.

"It was just poor defending, not enough talking," Warnock said of Fulham's equaliser. "We are a little bit immature in certain things. We should take a lesson, we will probably show quite a few clips of their players when we come back (after the international break).

"You've got to be a bit streetwise, I think we are a little bit naive. Especially people like Gavin (Whyte), if that had been over the other side, some of the pushes he got try and stumble on the defender's feet.

"But hey, that's the learning curve isn't it?"

Defender Aden Flint echoed the manager's sentiments after the match.

"It's really disappointing, we are really frustrated with that," the centre back said.

"We spoke about it at half time. We have got to be a bit more streetwise, a bit smarter, to see that out until half time because we got a goal so close to half time."

Cardiff now go into the international break having not lost in the last three games in the league, however they will certainly feel an opportunity went begging, especially after the sending off of Harry Arter in the second half.

The Bluebirds return to action away at Derby on September 13.
