Neil Warnock and Middlesbrough hopeful of signing Everton winger Yannick Bolasie

Neil Warnock remains hopeful that Middlesbrough can revive a potential deal to bring Everton winger Yannick Bolasie to the club in January.

Boro were interested in the 31-year-old late in the summer transfer window but an agreement could not be reached with all parties.

Bolasie has since been left out of Carlo Ancelotti's Premier League squad for the first half of 2020/21, with the expectation that a move for the winger will be sought in the winter.

And Warnock, while admitting that he had heard nothing over potential talks taking place, has spoken of a need to add to his wide options and claimed that he would love to reach a deal for the Everton man.

The Middlesbrough manager said [via the Hartlepool Mail ]: “I hope so. I’ve not heard anything at the moment but Steve (Gibson) knows we need a bit of help in those positions.

“You look at the teams we are playing against and they have good wide players so we need a little bit more help in that respect.

“If we are not going to score from set-pieces we need to score from other areas and that’s why we need wide players who can contribute to goals.

"I’d have Yannick tomorrow everyone knows that but I don’t know if there are any conversations going on at the moment.”
