Newcastle United coach Neil Redfearn was delighted to lead his side to a 3-2 win over Norwich City.
But he hopes his players learn from the victory after surrendering a 2-0 lead and making life difficult for themselves in the second half.
Excellent strikes from Rosaire Longelo and Luke Charman set the young Magpies on their way before they were pegged back, but Thomas Allan grabbed the winning goal with 17 minutes to go.
Redfearn told Chronicle Live: "The old saying for me is: 'To win is great but to not know how you won is unforgivable'.
"We have to get the process right, if we get it right every week we'll win.
"We will lose the odd one but it is about getting the process right."
Longelo's wonderful curling effort was an early contender for goal of the season while number 9 Charman will be pleased to grab his second of the campaign.
But Norwich refused to roll over and threatened to win it in the second half.
Redfearn said: "At 2-2 Norwich might have got another one, but we showed good resilience.
"But I was pleased with the tempo and that we got on the front-foot.
"Norwich are a good side and they will get results but our boys done themselves proud."
Newcastle had started the season with a 6-0 reverse at Reading back in August but have recovered and threaded successive victories together in Premier League 2.
Redfearn said: "It was a good performance and those performances have gradually got better with each game.
"Even in defeat the performances have got better.
"We just need to make sure the performances stay high."
