Neil McCann teased over Celtic star Odsonne Edouard penalty as Michael Stewart makes 'disrespectful' quip

Michael Stewart has teased Neil McCann over his accusation that Odsonne Edouard's penalty against Hearts was in the Scottish Cup Final.

The former Rangers winger had insisted Edouard's panenka was disrespectful to Craig Gordon.

He had said: "I can understand (Craig Gordon's reaction). I think that's pretty disrespectful.

"It's come off for him and it looks brilliant. It's just selfish. I didn't like it. It's not because Celtic have gone two-nil up - that's his (former) team-mate and that's why Craig's reacted like that.

"That was a little bit cheeky."

The Frenchman scored another penalty when he smashed past Kyle Gourlay in the Hamilton goal to open the scoring for Celtic on Sunday.

And Stewart was quick to wind up his old pal when the topic came up on Sportscene.

Stewart said: "I think it’s a penalty kick. It’s a crucial moment, he does catch him.

"It’s a crucial moment because Neil Lennon is talking in the first half about how they knew if they continued the same way they’d be able to open them up.

"Slightly disrespectful to stick it right in the corner."

Host Steven Thompson then got involved as well as he added: "I thought he might have gone for the panenka."

But McCann saw the funny side of it and was willing to laugh about it as he insisted that's how you take a penalty.

McCann joked: "Disgrace, that’s a penalty, that’s how to take a penalty.
