Neil McCann doubles down on Celtic Odsonne Edouard stance as Rangers hero calls striker 'disrespectful'

Neil McCann has doubled down on his comments about Odsonne Edouard's panenka penalty as he called the Celtic striker 'disrespectful'.

The Frenchman chipped his spot kick over Craig Gordon to make it 2-0 as the Parkhead side won the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.

Edouard's cheeky techinique angered Gordon as the Jambos keeper was booked for throwing the ball at his former team-mate.

Pundit McCann on BBC Sportsound hit out at the Hoops talisman for his penalty style.

He said: "I can understand (Craig Gordon's reaction). I think that's pretty disrespectful.

"It's come off for him and it looks brilliant. It's just selfish. I didn't like it. It's not because Celtic have gone two-nil up - that's his (former) team-mate and that's why Craig's reacted like that.

"That was a little bit cheeky."

And the former Rangers winger has reiterated his stance and insists it was 'selfish' of Edouard.

He said on Sportscene: "I don't like this penalty. Look, it's brilliant, it's executed perfectly. But if that goes wrong Neil Lennon goes off his head.

"I think it's quite a selfish penalty to take as a player. When it does go wrong, it looks awful. But it's gone right today.

"You think I would like it being a forward, but think Edouard would have done that at 0-0 or a full house at Hampden."
