Neil Lennon tells Celtic's under-fire stars they're 'amazing' as he makes recovery prediction

Adamant Neil Lennon is backing his "amazing" Celtic players to turn things around in the wake of Saturday's shocker against Rangers.

The Premiership champions are still smarting after their derby disappointment but have Thursday's Europa League showdown with Milan to get them excited.

The Celtic manager and his stars have come in for some serious flak with several high-profile pundits voicing their concerns over the lifeless display against their biggest rivals.

But Lennon is convinced his player won't let the derby body blow define their season as they get ready to welcome one of the most storied teams in the world to Parkhead.

He said: "The initial feeling was we were bitterly disappointed. But we have a great game to look forward to.

"We have tried to be positive with the players and they have responded in the right way

"We get our heads down and work hard but they also have to holds their heads high.

"There is a long way to go. We are not happy with the result but there is plenty of time to improve and bounce back.

"These players are amazing and they have done amazing things and I am confident that they will continue to do amazing things for the club."

The Hoops boss also revealed that defender Christopher Jullien, who last played on September 12, will remain out for a further spell with a back complaint.

He said: "He is going to be out for a period of time, he is still in a lot of discomfort. He's had scans, there is inflammation at the bottom of his spine.

"So he is going to be a few weeks, unfortunately.

"But we have no fresh injury concerns. James has his foot out of the pot (boot) now so he will be scanned in the next couple of days.

"Mikey Johnston is back in training but he has been a long time out so it is softly, softly with him."
