Neil Lennon snaps at Sky Sports reporter as Celtic boss responds to 'devil's advocate' reply

Neil Lennon bristled at Sky Sports reporter Luke Shanley after he questioned the Celtic boss' assertion that Alfredo Morelos didn't have a goalscoring opportunity in the Nir Bitton red card incident.

Lennon was furious after the match, describing referee Bobby Madden's decision to send off the Israeli as having 'done' his team.

James Tavernier sent Morelos clear in the flashpoint with a curling ball down the flank, and the Colombian got in front of his marker before being clawed to the ground.

But Lennon insisted the ref called it wrong in judging it to be a goalscoring opportunity.

He fumed: "We've been done by a pretty poor refereeing decision, I don't think he was great all day.

"He's made the decision straight away, Nir's not done done great, he's got himself in the wrong body position but he's not clean through.

"Ajer was on the cover so we had to jig things up and we were really unfortunate with the goal."

Shanley responded: "Playing devil's advocate, if Morelos takes the touch and he is going to get a shot away, is that not a goalscoring opportunity?

Lennon: "From where though?"

Shanley: "Edge of the box, just inside the box."

Lennon: "It would he a hell of a goal to beat Barkas from there (edge of the box) with Ajer coming in.

"You can debate it all you want for me, for a game of this magnitude, it was a really rash decision from the referee."
