Neil Lennon slams Rangers fans' boozer over 'disgusting' Celtic captain Scott Brown slur

Neil Lennon has branded a Rangers fans’ boozer “disgusting” after it encouraged punters to jump on Scott Brown’s head.

A Glasgow pub has images of the Celtic skipper mocked up as a clown on the floor for punters to stand on while they keep two metres apart.

The pic says, “Feel free to stamp on his clown” as part of the bar’s signs to help drinkers follow coronavirus rules.

But Lennon refused to see the funny side of the tasteless gag and insisted the owners of the Bristol Bar are out of order making Brown a target.

The Hoops gaffer said: “I’m not happy about the Bristol Bar thing. I’m disgusted by that. It’s bang out of order.

“It’s totally unnecessary. It really angered me.”

Lennon hopes council chiefs to order the bar to remove the signs but his focus remains on getting his squad up to speed out in France this week.

Celtic drew 1-1 with Nice on Thursday night with Patryk Klimala opening his Hoops account and they face hosts Lyon tonight – who were stung by Rangers 48 hours ago – before taking on PSG on Tuesday.

Lennon admitted he is also continuing his talent search – with a keeper his no.1 priority after the departure of Craig Gordon and the collapse of the Fraser Forster bid.

The Hoops boss admitted he was frustrated by Forster’s snub – but he won’t slam the door shut just yet despite the chances of a return looking slim.

Lennon said: “We’re disappointed with the Fraser issue. We’re talking to a couple of representatives of a couple of goalkeepers so hopefully we’ll have good news sooner rather than later on that.

“It’s kind of bizarre the way it’s panned out. The impression we got at the end was that he wanted to stay at Southampton and fight for his place, which, again, is the player’s prerogative.

“We were led to believe something else.

“There’s no more movement on it at the minute. We can’t keep leaving the door open. We have to make decisions. If it was to reverse tomorrow we’d go yeah, on you come, but we’re not getting any indication of that happening.”
