Neil Lennon is set to become the interim manager of Celtic until the end of the season, taking over from Brendan Rodgers as he nears a move to Leicester City.
Rodgers spent Wednesday in Leicester as he moved closer to finalising a deal with the Foxes, and is expected to be in the stands to see them play Brighton at the King Power Stadium.
Lennon could be thrown immediately back into action and preside over Celtic’s match against Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday evening.
The former captain and manager won five league titles as a player with Celtic and two more coaching the team, and would likely add an eighth to that list, given their position eight points clear of Rangers at the top this season.
First team coach John Kennedy will be promoted to assistant manager with Damien Duff moving up from reserve team manager to join Lennon’s backroom staff.
