Neil Lennon's Celtic press conference in full as boss vows to put loose lipped Jonny Hayes in 'detention'

Neil Lennon joked he's set to put Jonny Hayes in detention as he ribbed the winger for "telling tales out of school".

After Sunday's Betfred Cup Final victory over Rangers, Hayes revealed Lennon's reaction to Celtic 's lacklustre first-half display was one of disappointment, not anger.

The Irishman described Lennon as being like a school teacher in his approach, sending his side back out to secure victory through Christoper Jullien's volley.

And the Celtic boss was in jovial mood as he responded to Hayes' comments.

Lennon said: "Jonny shouldn't be telling tales out of school! He'll have to do detention for that.

"I don't need to rant and rave at these boys, I don't think they deserve it.

"We were just making a few pointers where we felt the first 45 wasn't the standard we set for ourselves, and they knew that.

"To rant and rave them would be pointless. So, myself and John (Kennedy) went through a few things.

"Obviously, bringing Mikey (Johnston) on and Odsonne (Edouard), you could see the team lifted."
