Neil Lennon's Celtic press conference in full as boss laughs off Ismaila Soro label

Neil Lennon appears cautious over labelling Ismaila Soro as an immediate understudy to Scott Brown .

The Celtic boss joked that the incoming Bnei Yehuda midfielder shouldn't have to "run before he can walk" as he closes in on a £2million move.

Lennon described Soro as a No.6 with impressive technical and physical attributes, but stopped short of naming the 21-year-old as Brown's heir apparent.

Nonetheless, the manager has been excited by what he's seen.

Lennon said: "He's like a No.6. Very powerful, gets the ball back, good close control.

"He's also quite smart with his passes. At that age, he's still got a little bit of work to do with his tactical awareness.

"But we liked what we saw."

When it was put to Lennon that Soro will take his place as an immediate understudy to Brown and Nir Bitton, he laughed: "You're building him into something... running before he can walk!

"We'll just give him some time to adapt and I think he could maybe play some games between now and the end of the season."
