Neil Lennon reveals where he was when Celtic offered him the job

Neil Lennon has revealed Celtic offered him the job while he was in the shower area of Hampden.

The Hoops boss was given the job on a permanent basis after guiding his side to the treble Treble and received another boost at the final whistle.

A 2-1 win over Hearts sealed the Scottish Cup to go alongside the Betfred Cup and Premiership trophies.

When asked about whether he was offered the job in the shower, he said: "No. Peter and Mr Desmond and a few members of the board came in afterwards into the shower area and they had a five minute chat and said they wanted to offer me the job and it’s just a privilege.

"Massive pressure, but I kept it all boxed in and I’ve evolved. I’m older, I had four years away and it was always an ambition to come back so I’m pleased this day has come.

"I am a very good professional and very dedicated. I had some lows at Bolton and two great years at Hibs and I believed in my own ability and thankfully so did the Celtic board."

Lennon returned to Celtic in February after Brendan Rodgers had quit the job to join Leicester City.

Details over his deal will be released over the coming days, according to the club.
