Neil Lennon reveals Ismaila Soro Celtic breakthrough as he lifts lid on club's meticulous transfer approach

Neil Lennon expects Celtic target Ismaila Soro will put pen to paper on his Parkhead deal in the coming days.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who was born in the Ivory Coast, played in Moldova and Belarus before moving to Israel side Bnei Yehuda in 2018.

Record Sport exclusively revealed on Friday they club were working to resolve a number of issues which have held up the 21-year-old’s arrival

But Celtic boss Lennon isn't imagining any setbacks and is hopeful the £2m deal will be rubber-stamped imminently.

The Parkhead boss said: "I think a deal has been agreed.

"We are waiting on paperwork now so hopefully that can be resolved over the next few days."

Soro is set to join Poland Under-21s striker Patryk Klimala who signed for the champions on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Jagiellonia Bialystok earlier this week.

And Lennon has lifted the lid on the club's detailed approach to securing their top targets this month.

He added: "It will be good. He (Soro) is a good player, strong, technically very good, quick across the ground, hungry.

"We have done a lot of work on him. We've done a lot of work on Klimala and he is in the building.

"It is good to get a couple of players in to freshen things up a bit.

"It gives a lift. Training has been good and the boys are itching to get back into it."
