Neil Lennon reveals Celtic meeting with Desmond and Lawwell who 'fully support' under fire boss

Neil Lennon reveals he has received 'full support' from Celtic chiefs Peter Lawwell and Dermot Desmond in the wake of their Europa League exit.

The Parkhead side suffered a 4-1 defeat to Sparta Prague as they crashed out of the competition with two games left in the group.

Lennon is in the firing line as the Premiership champions' poor form continues.

But the Celtic boss said he had a 'productive' zoom meeting with Lawwell and Desmond who are fully behind him.

He said: "I speak to Dermot maybe twice a week so I spoke to the two of them today on a zoom call, trying to find solutions to what we can do better, not just with the first team, but all round with the club.

"It was a very productive conversation and I have their full support.

"We are not happy with the way things have gone in recent weeks and I am the head of the football department and I am the face of the club. Peter is the chief executive and Dermot is the main shareholder.

"They've been with me since day one, through the good times and we are going through a bad time at the minute. And they feel the need to offer suggestions, ideas and vice versa for me.

"It's hugely encouaraging but not surprising because the relationship I have with them as a player and a manager, in my first spell and certainly my second one, we're very close.

"They are not happy about things, they are honest about things as well. They believe in me, I believe in them and I believe in the process."
