Neil Lennon rates Scott Allan as his best signing as Hibs manager.
The playmaker arrived on loan in January 2018 under Lennon from Celtic for a second spell at Easter Road.
In a twist of fate, Lennon signed Allan on a pre-contract a year later before then taking the reins at Parkhead once again just a few weeks later after leaving Hibs.
Lennon is proud of the transfer business he did in Leith, but rates Allan as his best capture during his time in charge.
He said: "We did alright. I quite liked Brandon Barker when he came, but we couldn't get him fit enough.
"Scott Allan was a great signing. We were going to sign Scott Bain, but he went to Celtic, so Allan came from Dundee and he did really well.
"Talent-wise, he was an excellent signing. He's got a few illness and injury problems, I hope he overcomes it and shows everyone what a good player he can be."
Predecessor Alan Stubbs certainly struck gold when he tempted John McGinn from St Mirren.
He helped lead Hibs to the Championship title then European qualification after their first season back in the Premiership.
The midfielder went on to seal a £3.5million move to Aston Villa and establish himself as one of Scotland’s main men.
Lennon inherited McGinn, and recalled a post-match barb that’s since come back to bite him, with the player not likely to let him forget it any time soon.
He told BBC Scotland: "He's a brilliant lad, and he's a brilliant impressionist. He takes the mickey out of me all the time.
"We played St Mirren one night, and he was playing against his brother Stephen. Stephen got the better of him and I was raging after the game.
"I said: 'You? You're the best player in the Championship? You're not even the best player in your own house.'
"Every time I see him he reminds me of it, and now he's worth about £50million."
