Neil Lennon 'rejects' two jobs as former Hibs and Celtic boss declares he's back in management mood

Former Hibs and Celtic boss Neil Lennon claims he is back in the management game as he prepares for a return to football - despite 'rejecting' two offers.

Lennon was sacked by Celtic in February 2021 after a horror run saw them finish 25 points behind bitter rivals Rangers, ending the potential of a tenth title in a row with Hoops fans left more than dismayed at being unable to break a record that has stood dangling in front of both Old Firm teams for over half a century.

He joined Omonia just over a year later, but after just 29 games he was sacked despite leading them to the Cypriot Cup and a subsequent Europa League run which saw them face Manchester United. But despite his willingness to return to the management scene, Lennon claims he has rejected two offers as he waits for the perfect opportunity.

He told talkSPORT: "I only came back into the UK in April. I was away in Cyprus and did some media work but now I’m looking to get back in. It’s a competitive market so it’s just about being patient.

"I’ve been offered a couple of jobs already which I just felt weren’t right for me. At the same time I want to work. My best years are in front of me, I’m 52 this week and I still have a lot of coaching and drive in me. Hopefully the right project will come up for me in the not to distant future.

"I’m excited about what the future holds for me in the next couple of years."
