Neil Lennon reacts to Kieran Tierney Arsenal transfer as Celtic boss prepares for life without superstar

Neil Lennon has hailed Kieran Tierney and insists the Celtic defender goes with everyone's best wishes after a fee was agreed with Arsenal.

The Hoops left-back is heading to North London after the two clubs came to terms on a £25million deal for the Scotland international.

Arsenal had to stay patient after having two bids rebuffed but are on the verge of landing their man after agreeing a price with Celtic. The breakthrough finally came on Wednesday night.

The announcement happened when the Hoops were still on the pitch in Cluj, with Celtic keeping their Champions League mission on track after sealing a 1-1 draw.

The Celtic boss admitted he still hadn't had confirmation but admits Tierney will be missed in a big way once a deal to join the Premier League side is completed.

Lennon told Sportsound : "I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me.

"These things naturally take their course but I've not had any confirmation of that.

"If that is the case then he goes with everyone's best wishes.

"He's a superb player and will be a huge loss for us and it shows the work the people like Brendan (Rodgers), Ronny (Deila) and the people in the academy to produce such a fine player

"He's an outstanding talent and a great kid."

Captain Scott Brown added: "He’s a fantastic player and we wish him all the best. I’m sure the gaffer’s got eyes on a few players and if Kieran goes, they will do a great job."
