Neil Lennon has opened up on the mental toll that the recent transfer speculation has had on Kieran Tierney.
The Celtic star is a key target for Arsenal who are keen to bolster their defence before next week's transfer deadline.
The Gunners have already had three bids rejected for the full-back before their interest cooled.
However reports have suggested that Arsenal have re-entered discussions for the 22-year-old, with some suggesting a deal is close to being agreed.
Of course this sort of speculation and media scrutiny is bound to have an impact on the youngster, and Neil Lennon has said that the speculation isn't helping his efforts to recover from injury.
He said: "Kieran started kicking a ball on Wednesday, but he’s still feeling some discomfort there.
“We’ll see how it is when things settle down because it’s a very unsettling time for him at the minute.
"The injury has compounded that frustration because he’s not 100 per cent right. I’ve been in his position so I have a lot of sympathy for him, when maybe a lot of people wouldn’t.
“But I know what’s it’s like to have to keep adjusting your mindset if things do go as expected.
“This is where this generation are at a disadvantage because it comes at them from all angles, with social media and people surmising or giving opinions, making up rumours.
“It’s not just the media, it’s every angle — but Kieran’s got a good stable home life to keep him in check.
“I make sure I know how he’s doing and we’re supportive of him whatever happens."
