Neil Lennon provides Celtic injury latest on Christopher Jullien and Moritz Bauer

Neil Lennon says he will rest several key players for Wednesday's Betfred Cup clash with Partick Thistle.

The games are coming thick and fast for Celtic as they host the Jags before the Parkhead side will then face Hibs at the weekend, before their Europa League clash with Cluj next week.

And Lennon says he will freshen things up against Thistle to manage the the fixture congestion.

The likes of Ryan Christie , Callum McGregor and James Forrest are likely to be rotated with Lennon confirming Craig Gordon will replace Fraser Forster in between the sticks.

He said: "There's a temptation and in some areas a necessity as well. It's fair to say there will be some changes.

"Craig (Gordon) will play. He hasn't done a lot wrong but it's important he gets games and it's important that we keep him motivated. If anything were to happen to Fraser and Craig is under-cooked then that would be remiss of me. Not only does he need to play, he deserves to play.

"Obviously we have to take a steer on games coming up as well, for the likes of (James) Forrest, (Scott) Brown, (Callum) McGregor, (Ryan) Christie, (Boli) Bolingoli, they have all been playing a lot of football."

Lennon also provided an update on the fitness of Moritz Bauer and Christopher Jullien who both limped off in the weekend's win over Kilmarnock.

Leigh Griffiths is still struggling with a thigh injury and has been ruled out of the Partick clash.

He added: "Moritz (Bauer) twisted his ankle so he'll be a doubt. Christopher Jullien is fine."
