Neil Lennon on the Celtic anxiety that's disappearing as he reveals half time Klimarnock pep talk

Neil Lennon has revealed his half time message to Celtic players that sparked a dominant second half performance against Kilmarnock.

The Hoops were level at the break against a stubborn Killie side, but came flying out the blocks in the second period.

Mohamed Elyounoussi and Shane Duffy secured a crucial 2-0 win for the Parkhead side as they chase down Premiership league leaders Rangers.

And Lennon said his message to the players at the break was clear as Celtic enjoyed a quick start to the second half.

He said: "I just said to them I needed a little bit more oomph. I don't want to get after them. When you are going through a run like this, it's all about confidence.

"And I was pleased in the main how we performed in the first half, but knew there was more to come. Keeping a clean sheet is very pleasing so it's small steps in the right direction.

"I am delighted, I thought we dominated the game. Physically, we looked strong and I thought our attacking play was good and we desrved to win the game by a lot more. I am very happy. Body language, attitude, will to win from the players was all there to see."

Celtic have struggled to break down teams in recent weeks and have appeared to look more and more nervous the longer the game stays at 0-0.

And Lennon says it's something he is working on, but he feels it's something that the players coped better with today.

He added: "There is a bit of anxiety at times when we don't get the first goal or an early goal and that was apparent last week and even against Ross County.

"We are trying to work on that. I though we had a good balance and good chances. We started the second brilliantly and we never looked back after that."
