Neil Lennon makes Dominic McKay Celtic admission ahead of summer arrival

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has admitted he's yet to meet incoming Hoops chief Dominic McKay ahead of his summer arrival.

McKay will replace Peter Lawwell when the current chief executive steps down in the summer and is also likely to appoint a director of football.

But Lennon admits there's been no discussions with him yet but believes there needs to be talks over budgets and contracts for next season.

It's not yet clear whether the Celtic manager will continue for next term with heavy criticism from supporters and the club promising a review that was due to take place in January.

The Celtic Park club could have a lot of rebuilding to do with players such as Scott Brown out of contract and many others potentially leaving.

And Lennon said: “We’re talking about the team, the present players and Peter planning and putting things in place for the new guy coming in.

“It all begins now. The preparations are ongoing.

“I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. With Peter leaving, it leaves a big hole on the football and administration side.

“It’s obvious that gap needs to be filled by one or two people. Whether that’s a director of football or another sort of person coming into the building remains to be seen.

"You’ve already got Dominic coming in. When it comes to contracts and budgets, then that needs to be looked at for next season. I haven’t met Dominic.”
