Neil Lennon makes Celtic title vow as he provides positive James Forrest injury update

Neil Lennon insists Celtic will not give up on the title despite their huge deficit to Rangers.

The Parkhead side are 19 points behind the Premiership league leaders, with three games in hand, after their 1-0 defeat at Ibrox last weekend.

Celtic travelled to Dubai for a warm weather training camp following a disappointing derby day as they regroup for the second half of the campaign.

And the Northern Irishman still believes his side can produce a comeback in the league, but admits they will need to be almost faultless the rest of the way.

He told Celtic TV: "I'm looking forward to the games. I think the players will be, we've got our targets, incentives and we've got a lot to play for still.

"We're not giving up on the league by any stretch of the imagination, but we are going to have to be really on it from here on in and we are capable of doing that."

James Forrest, who has been sorely missed by the Hoops this term, is on the verge of returning from a lengthy ankle injury.

Mikey Johnston is another player who has missed a substantial amount of playing time during the first half of the season.

But Lennon is glad to see the academy graduates getting up to speed and reveals Forrest's return is 'not a million miles away'.

He said: "We have missed those two this year. They are exceptional talents, individual talents and they can change the dynamic of the way we play.

"Mikey has had a poor luck of run with injuries so it's good to see him back and flourishing again.

"Jamesy is not a million miles away now which is huge because he's been such a pivotal player over the years."
