Neil Lennon issues Celtic transfer update while making claim about Kris Ajer to AC Milan speculation

Neil Lennon has admitted Celtic are "actively looking" for a new left back.

The departures of Boli Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes means that the Parkhead club have only Greg Taylor as an option on the left side of defence.

The Hoops have been linked with Charlton Athletic talent Alfie Doughty in recent weeks, but Lennon has refused to be drawn on names.

However the Celtic boss does admit that they are actively looking to strengthen in defence, although they are in no rush.

He told BBC Scotland: "We're looking. We're actively looking. These windows, something comes up along the way and you go 'yeah'.

"Maybe something down the line, with a few weeks to go or a week to go. There's no mad rush to get one in, but we'd like to do it if we could."

Lennon was unhappy to see Kris Ajer linked with a switch to AC Milan this morning, laughing off any suggestion that he could leave the club for £14million.

He added: "It's disappointing on the day of a game that this comes out, because it can be unsettling for a player. But I thought, particularly second half, he had a real strong game.

"We don't want to sell him. I'm not convinced £14million would cut it anyway."
