Neil Lennon in key Celtic transfer update as he puts time frame on new arrivals

Confident Neil Lennon has revealed he is "hoping" to add two new faces to his Celtic squad in the coming days.

The Hoops boss has made no secret of his desire to bring in a striker during the January window and also wants a winger to add competition for places.

Celtic are monitoring Slovan Bratislava striker Andraz Sporar and Jagiellonia Bialystok frontman Patryk Klimala.

And a wide man is on the agenda with Scott Sinclair on the verge of completing his move to Championship side Preston.

Lennon said: "We have a couple of options bubbling under.

"There won't be anything done today but we are hoping in the next few days that we might have one or two bodies in.

"We might be looking in the wide area (as well as a striker). There won't be too many, I don't think."

Lennon also confirmed Odsonne Edouard will not be going anywhere during the January window but admits an eventual exit is "inevitable."

Record Sport exclusively revealed that Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is already preparing a record- breaking summer bid of around £30million for the prolific Frenchman

Lennon added: “It might be inevitable but certainly not in the short term. We want Odsonne here.

“We have a huge second half of the season and he’s made a huge contribution.”
