Neil Lennon in Ipswich next manager mix as former Celtic boss sounds out Paul Lambert

Ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon has emerged as a contender for the Ipswich job.

The Tractor Boys are looking for their fourth manager in three years following the sacking of Paul Cook and the former Hoops boss is
understood to be on the shortlist at Portman Road.

Lennon left Celtic in February but is relishing for a return to management.

It is understood he has spoken about the job to his old pal Paul Lambert, who was at Ipswich until March, and is excited about the chance to work with the new American owners.

The 50-year-old has been out of management since leaving Parkhead in February, but has been working as a pundit for Sky Sports in recent months.

Ipswich are in no rush to name an appointment with John McGreal in interim charge.

Lennon had a brief spell in charge of Bolton initially saving them from relegation from the Championship before they were being beset by financial problems.
