Neil Lennon in Celtic U-turn as he backtracks from 'get out' claim

Neil Lennon has backtracked after telling his wantaway stars they can leave Celtic if they don't want to be at the club.

The Hoops boss revealed after their Champions League exit to Ferencvaros that players wanted to head for Parkhead exit door.

He said: "The players have to be better, get your attitude right, get your mentality right.

"Some of you don't want to be here? Leave.

"I just want the players who want to be here."

But Lennon has changed his tune insisting he wants them to 'settle down' for Celtic's Ten in a Row push.

He said: "We want them to settle down.

"We want them just to do what they do best, they're great lads.

"I understand that sometimes there can be interest but this is a great club.

"You want harmony, and I'm not saying there's been any agitation at all but sometimes you can lose a little bit of focus.

"We just want them to get back on it and concentrate on the job that lies ahead.

"At the end of the day they're good players, and once they realise what excitement and what we have in store this season hopefully that will persuade them to knuckle down now and really concentrate on the job at hand."
