Neil Lennon in Celtic transfer quip as boss insists Odsonne Edouard is 'going nowhere'

Celtic manager Neil Lennon jokes even he doesn't know who could come in before the transfer deadline - but insists Odsonne Edouard is going nowhere.

The Premiership champions are keen to get at least one new face in before Monday's deadline.

A left-back to provide competition for Greg Taylor is the priority, with Alfie Doughty of Charlton linked.

But speaking ahead of the clash with St Johnstone the Celtic gaffer was in no mood to give anything away.

Lennon said on BBC Radio Scotland: "It's tomorrow, we've got 24 hours and a lot of deals can get done in that time.

"I'm pretty confident that we'll keep what we have and just look to add one or two if we can."

The Celtic boss was then pressed to give a name.

Lennon quipped: "I can't, I don't know myself!"

While he wouldn't be drawn on incomings though, the Irishman was clear on the future of Edouard.

"He's not going anywhere. The rest of them aren't going anywhere.

"I just showed the fixture list after the break to the players, and there are some fantastic games.

"That's something that this club can give that other clubs can't - why would you want to leave now when we've got so much to look forward to?"
