Neil Lennon identifies two key Celtic transfer needs for Champions League bid as he predicts exits

Neil Lennon reckons Ange Postecoglou will be looking to add a bit of 'physicality and quality' as he bids to make a splash in the Champions League.

The current Celtic boss is on the cusp of securing a Treble in his second season in charge after lifting a double last year. The League Cup and Scottish Premiership are already in the bag once again this season with Scottish Championship side Inverness standing between the Hoops and a domestic clean sweep this season.

All the talk has been about Rangers and the big summer rebuild facing Michael Beale. Key players like Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent are heading out with a number of fresh faces already linked to join January recruits Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin - who have both impressed in the early part of their careers in Govan.

But Lennon reckons Celtic will also add new faces to their pool while he's also predicted some exits from the Scottish champions.

Asked by pal and Rangers legend Ally McCoist about summer signings, he told talkSPORT: "Oh yeah. I think you look to strengthen the squad. I think there will be a few leaving, try and balance the books that way.

"If he does get over the line with the Treble, which will be a great success for him, he's got to look at participating strongly in the Champions League. I think he will want to do that.

"They've got a good nucleus of a squad but you seen the results in the Champions League this year, they were a little bit short. I think he'll add a bit of physicality and a bit of quality.

"And then of course Michael [Beale] has gone on record to say that he wants to rebuild it so it will be exciting times for both teams going into next year."
