Neil Lennon hails 'class' act Shane Duffy as Celtic boss singles out three stars after Ross County rout

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has hailed Shane Duffy after he netted on his debut for the club in their 5-0 win over Ross County.

The Irishman marked his Hoops bow with a goal as the champions put in a ruthtless second half performance against the Staggies.

There were five different goalscorers for the away side as Odsonne Edouard, Albian Ajeti, Patryk Klimala, Kris Ajer and Duffy all got on the scoresheet.

And Lennon insists Duffy showed his class after the break as he praised his side's performance.

He said: "I think it's a great day for him in his professional life. Something that he has always wanted to do. He's put on the Celtic shirt and scored on his debut.

"He got better and better as the game went on because he is a class player an you can see what he can bring to the team. Second half he was outstanding.

"I thought the longer the game went on, I thought we looked far more powerful and a threat. 5-0 away from home is fantastic.

"My goalkeeper (Barkas) had to make a couple saves so we'll need to look at that, but I'm delighted for him. A good team performance in the end.

"It's the first game in a block of seven and its a great way to start it. Couple of players need to get up to speed, you can see Albian needs a bit more gametime. But that's three in three for him which is brilliant.

"We've got Soro and Turnbull coming on and will find their feet quickly because they're good players. I thought we were better as the game went on. We looked a little open at the back in the first half but we corrected that."
