Neil Lennon given Celtic reprieve as New Year review leads to 'continued support' despite derby defeat

Celtic manager Neil Lennon will see out the season at Parkhead, a report has claimed.

The under-fire manager managed to steady the ship after a horror run of just two wins in 12 games.

But fans are once again questioning his position following Saturday's defeat to Rangers that leaves his side 19 points behind their rivals in the Scottish Premiership title race.

However, the Scottish Sun claim that majority shareholder Dermot Desmond saw enough in their performance at Ibrox to conclude the manager can continue the turnaround in the promised New Year review of his performance.

It's also believed he will be given the authority to go after January transfer targets, with a new centre-back thought to be a priority.

Celtic are currently in Dubai on a winter training camp and next face Hibs on Monday night after their rivals play Aberdeen.

Despite their mammoth deficit, they have three games in hand over Rangers, but would still trail by double digits even if they were to win all three.
