Neil Lennon delivers verdict on Celtic's transfer window as he hits back at critics

Neil Lennon insists he is delighted with Celtic's transfer window and believes the club have performed well over the summer.

The Hoops boss has had to deal with a lot of criticism over the window with fans unhappy with the length of time it took to get signings.

In the end Celtic made 10 additions to their squad with Greg Taylor and youngsters Jeremie Frimpong and Lee O'Connor joining on deadline day.

And Lennon insists the club is united and everyone at Celtic Park is pleased with how everything went and told about how Celtic ignored the critics.

Speaking as he was named manager of the month for August, he said: "When you seen the calibre of player that left in the summer. Obviously Kieran (Tierney) for a start, (Mikael) Lustig, (Dedryck) Boyata, we had to bolster the defence and you're seen the fruits of that now with performances from Christopher (Jullien) and Boli (Bolingoli) and Hatem (Abd Elhamed).

"Moritz (Bauer) is coming in later and he’ll bed himself in and hopefully be a good addition and Greg (Taylor) is someone who knows the league and we’re very pleased to get a very consistent player at this level.

"Young enough to develop an even better player than what he already is.

“The club is united, let's get that right. There's been a lot of sniping but we stayed very strong on it and composed and knew what we wanted to do.

"These things take time but the window has closed and I am every happy with the quality of the squad, the players we have brought in and the players we already had."
