Neil Lennon Celtic job review 'ongoing' as timeframe of club's decision on his future revealed

Celtic's review of Neil Lennon's position is 'ongoing' and a decision on his future will be made at the end of the month, according to a report.

Parkhead chiefs backed their under-fire manager on December 7 and stated they would conduct a review in the New Year.

At that point, Celtic were 13 points behind Premiership league leaders Rangers with two games in hand and a showdown with their rivals.

Since then, the Hoops have tasted defeat at Ibrox and went on to record three draws in a row. They are now 20 points behind their rivals after their 2-2 against Livingston on Wednesday night, although still have two games in hand.

Sky Sports report the review of Lennon's job, as well as the management staff, is still ongoing and an outcome will be decided by the end of January.

Lennon claimed last night he would no walk away from the club after the 2-2 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena as pressure mounts on him.

He said: "He said: "I won't walk away, absolutely not. I've put too much into this. It's my life.. and a month ago we won a treble."

Asked if the end is near, the Irishman replied: "I can't answer that. You're asking the wrong person.

"I've been concerned about my position for a long time.

"Listen, when I came in I didn't know how long I was going to be in the job for because there was an outcry of 'maybe he's not good enough, blah blah blah...'

"But I've won five trophies out of six so far. Maybe the league is beyond us but I don't think there's been a balance and that's fine.

"That's fine, I can take all that. I've just got to keep working away and keep believing we'll turn results into wins."
