Neil Lennon addresses Martin Boyle Celtic link as he reveals transfer quest to land 'quality' signing

Celtic boss Neil Lennon insists his side will not stop in their quest to strengthen their squad before the close of the January transfer window.

But the Hoops boss is adamant that any talk of an imminent approach for Hibs winger Martin Boyle is wide of the mark.

The Irishman is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old - who he helped develop during his time as Easter Road manager.

Reports this morning suggested the Australian international could be available for £1.5m but it's understood Hibs would demand a significantly higher fee for one of their key men.

Celtic's head of recruitment Nick Hammond has been in attendance for Boyle's last two games against Dundee United and Hamilton.

Lennon, speaking ahead of his side's clash with Ross County, said: "I know Martin well, he did great for me at Hibs, but that is just complete speculation.

"People are putting two and two together and getting five."

And Lennon admits his recruitment chief is working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring in a winger before the close of the window.

He added: "There's no real names I can come forward with, Nick (Hammond) and the scouts are working away diligently to see if we can get a quality one in with a little bit of experience."
