Neil Harris delivers emphatic response to Robert Glatzel's Werder Bremen transfer links and Cardiff City's 'strong progress' on incomings

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris has categorically shot down Robert Glatzel's links with Werder Bremen and insists the striker is going nowhere this month.

This week it emerged that the Bundesliga outfit had identified Glatzel and Strasbourg striker Lebo Mothiba as potential targets to replace Niclas Fullkrug, who is sidelined after sustaining a nasty ACL injury.

However Harris rubbished those claims, believing the striker to be a crucial part of the squad moving forward.

"I don't want him to leave and there's nothing in those reports," Harris said of Glatzel.

In terms of incomings, the Bluebirds boss was very positive about what lies ahead this week.

There have been no new faces come through the door at Cardiff City Stadium this month, but, to some extent, that was always likely to be the case.

When asked how the club are progressing in terms of landing a new signature in the coming week, Harris responded: "Strong, from my perspective.

"I was very clear the other day, I want to add to the group and I'm still pushing.

"It's going to be a busy week on the pitch and hopefully off the pitch.

"I can't say anything that's changed, I can't promise there's going to be a player here because I want to identify the players I want to add.

"I'm just hopeful we can get them over the line this week."

When pressed on just how confident he was that the club would make a signing this week, Harris said the turbulent nature of the January transfer window makes it almost impossible to predict what will happen.

"I've done various transfer windows now in my young managerial career," he added.

"Some are nailed on at 99 percent and don't happen. Some seem miles away and then happen in 15 minutes.

"I want to add to the group."
