Neil Etheridge takes to social media in wake of rumours he's left Cardiff City's US tour

Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge couldn't resist making light of the rumours he had left the Bluebirds' tour of America early.

The shot-stopper has been the source of much speculation this summer - with Aston Villa reportedly interested in the 29-year-old.

And when rumours emerged on social media that Etheridge was no longer with Neil Warnock's men over in the States, it didn't take long for some Cardiff fans to get worried.

That wasn't the case - with Etheridge still very much involved with the Bluebirds over in the USA.

But the Philippines international couldn't resist having a little fun about the whispers.

He posted a video on his Instagram story, appearing to have been filmed in his back garden, showing his dog running around with the caption: 'Always nice to be back home'.

However, just a few minutes later, the goalkeeper set the record straight - posting another Instagram story of him relaxing by the pool with with his Cardiff City team-mates in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This video was headed with the caption: 'Nah only joking guys...'

It seems like, for now at least, Etheridge is still very much part of Cardiff City's future.
