Neil Doncaster has warned there will be "more and more" positive coronavirus tests in the coming weeks, as three Hamilton players go into quarantine.
The Lanarkshire club have seen three positive tests, with full-back Lee Hodson also asked to self-isolate.
That saw training shut down for a deep clean, with manager Brian Rice fearing his squad could be decimated ahead of Saturday's clash with Kilmarnock.
Accies will face further testing tomorrow, and the head of the SPFL expects more positive tests in the coming weeks.
Doncaster warned: "Given the current incidence of the virus in the community, we are likely to see more and more positive tests for Covid-19 amongst Premiership teams.
"This situation once again emphasises the importance of our current testing regime in reducing the likelihood of the virus spreading unchecked through Premiership first team squads, and in increasing the chances of us being able to complete season 2020/21."
The three players must isolate for 10 days from Monday, with Hamilton chairman Allan Maitland thanking the authorities for resolving the situation quickly.
He said in a statement from the SFA and SPFL joint response group: "We are grateful that this matter has been resolved quickly and efficiently and wish to thank all parties involved.
"We fully understand the problems encountered by other clubs since the outbreak of this pandemic and also how difficult it is to resolve them fairly and consistently.
"After a difficult few days, our focus will be to get back to training and carry the momentum gained from last week into the match this Saturday."
