Neighbours reportedly attempted to save a tragic mum-of-three after she fell from a flat block window.
Emergency services were called to Quarry Green Heights on Daleside Road, in Kirkby, after reports that a woman in her 30s was discovered injured outside one of the high rise buildings.
Fire crews, paramedics and police arrived at around 8.50pm on Thursday night but the woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The death of the woman is not being treated as suspicious but an investigation is currently ongoing.
Residents of the blocks spoke of their shock to the ECHO while one made claimed that two of his neighbours tried to save the woman's life after she fell.
He said: "They ran straight out of the building to her and were trying to save her life.
"They were shouting for help and asked other people to call 999.
"Apparently they tried CPR on her but it didn't work. They are devastated.
"My heart goes out to them, and the girl and her family. It's absolutely terrible.
"She was a lovely, pleasant girl. I've known her a long time and It has come as a real shock to people."
A cordon was erected at the scene as forensic officers worked from within an evidence tent outside the flat block.
Merseyside Police confirmed they were in Kirkby yesterday evening (Thursday, 2 April) following the sudden death of a woman.
A spokesperson said: "Officers attended at flats on Quarry Green following reports that a woman had fallen from a sixth-floor balcony at about 8.50pm.
"An investigation is currently underway, however the death is not thought to be suspicious. Her family have been informed.
"A post mortem will be held to confirm the cause of death."
News of the woman's death spread quickly through the close knit Kirkby community and tributes have already started to flood social media.
One woman said: "So so sad and heartbreaking. May they now R.I.P."
Another added: "Can't believe what I am reading. So heartbreaking to hear."
A man, who lived nearby, added: "So sad, may you now rest in peace sweet girl."
Many other also posted their condolences to the woman's family.
One person said: "So heartbreaking. Thinking of all this persons family at this sad time."
Another also said: " God rest her soul. Deepest sympathy to all of the family. Thinking of you at this sad time."
A woman added: "R.I.P Precious lady. Love and prayers to all your family."
