An abusive and intimidating thug threatened to "slit the throats and cut the jugular" of his neighbours as well as petrol bomb their home during a terrifying "ongoing feud".
Hot-headed bully Simon Fullerton, 37, hurled a torrent of racist insults, made throat-slitting threats to police and told them: "I wish I had shot you at the door when I had chance."
Hull Live reports that he also twice caused "appalling" problems at a health centre and aggressively kicked a security guard while being removed, Hull Crown Court heard.
Fullerton, of Hull, admitted to witness intimidation on June 15 and racially aggravated harassment between May 17 and June 16.
He also admitted to racially aggravated threatening behaviour on May 5 and racially aggravated assault on May 6.
Gareth Henderson-Moore, prosecuting, said that Fullerton was "mouthing off" and being aggressive when his neighbours had a visitor.
He hurled racist abuse and threatened to hit them with a bicycle chain. The abusive name-calling continued nearly every day after that, the court heard.
Police were alerted but Fullerton refused to let them inside his home and repeatedly told them to leave.
He shouted and swore after being put in handcuffs and warned police that he was going to "slit their throats and cut their jugular".
He shouted: "I wish I had shot you at the door when I had chance."
Fullerton was put in the back of a police van but continued to threaten officers and threatened to drag his neighbour out of his house and jump on his head, the court was told.
"He began to spit and kick out at the cage door and refused to stop," said Mr Henderson-Moore.
At the police station, he was "volatile" and forcefully kicked out towards an officer, causing a cut on his nose.
Fullerton had already been given a 16-week suspended prison sentence on June 9 for assaulting a police officer and criminal damage and he admitted being in breach of that with later offences.
On June 15, Fullerton threatened to stamp on his neighbour's head and threatened to cut the jugular of a woman's boyfriend.
He shouted: "I'll f****** get you, you beached whale" and threatened to stamp on her head.
Fullerton threatened to petrol bomb the house and to smash the boyfriend's face in and to kill the woman's dogs, the court was told.
He made racist insults and yelled: "I have lived here 15 years. I am never going to stop until you are gone."
He made more threats about slitting people's throats and later told police that he could not be racist because he "had Spanish and Irish blood".
In earlier incidents on May 5 and 6, Fullerton became aggressive and threatening at a health centre in Storey Street, Hull, and had to be removed, the court heard.
He hurled racist insults at security staff. The next day, he was again aggressive.
He resisted when escorted out and kicked out at a security officer while he was on the floor.
One of the neighbours said in a statement: "I don't feel safe or comfortable in my own house. I fear for my safety."
One of the women involved said that she was scared to leave the house.
"I am worried that, if I do leave my house, the house and my animals may be at risk," she said.
Her mother said: "It has tainted living in the area that I live. It's really shaking me up to see my daughter cry."
Richard Thompson, mitigating, said that Fullerton's behaviour was sometimes "bizarre" and he made highly offensive comments.
The offences were committed over a relatively short period of time, although the later ones were in breach of a suspended prison sentence.
Fullerton had been in custody for eight months but had previously worked as a carpenter and a labourer on building sites.
He had kept out of trouble for some time before the spate of offences.
He had convictions for 14 previous offences, mainly for dishonesty.
Recorder Tahir Khan QC told Fullerton: "Your behaviour was appalling."
Fullerton made the lives of his neighbours and their family a "misery" as part of an "ongoing feud" against them, the court heard.
The harassment included threatening to petrol bomb their home and slit their throats as well as using racist insults. He had warned his neighbour not to make a witness statement against him.
Fullerton was jailed for two years and seven months and was given a five-year restraining order.
