A couple are questioning whether their "massive" back garden veranda is what drove their neighbours to act strangely and move out shortly after it was built.
Alexandra Adams and her husband Cev, both 43, said their relationship with their neighbours turned sour after Cev built the veranda at their home in London.
Alexandra explained that her husband is Turkish and "over there every home has a veranda".
She told The Sun: "It was massive, not a delicate little thing, and right up against the boundary between us and next door."
Alexandra said the veranda was "very visible" from their neighbour’s house, but that the pair "weren’t having raucous parties".
The couple were therefore puzzled over what their neighbours were "upset" about.
Alexandra said that they didn't properly socialise with their neighbours but they would would say hello and smile.
But after the veranda appeared, Alexandra claimed she and her husband "never saw them".
"Then they started doing weird things like vacuuming loudly really early or late at night. It seemed they were making a point.
"If we went out in the garden, they would go inside. Sometimes, I could swear I heard tutting from their side of the fence. It felt very awkward. But it’s our garden and surely our business what we put in it."
Alexandra gave birth to her daughter Lara two months ago, and said that same week the couple "moved out".
Earlier this month, a man expressed his outrage at his neighbour after she allowed her kid into his garden to play on his swing bench - without asking permission first.
In a post on Reddit, the man explained the swing was already in place in his front garden when he moved into the house just over a year ago, but he decided to refurbish it himself since the swing section was a little unstable.
