A woman has been targeted by her neighbours who claim she has turned her home into 'an eyesore' by planting vegetables and say she has 'ruined the town'. The woman has been sent anonymous letters telling her to dig up the plot.
Shortly after moving into her new home, the woman started planning out her eco-friendly garden and set to work neatly laying out all of her plants and vegetables. But her neighbours are now ordering her to dig it all up and put it in her back garden instead, reports The Mirror.
One of the anonymous letters reads: "Dear homeowners. The front of your house is an eyesore to the neighbourhood. You have a backyard that you could [have] planted your garden.
"Please consider your neighbours and the eye sore your property has become. Why not do that in the back where people don't have to look at it.
"You [have] ruined a perfectly good town and the look of a nice neighbourhood."
She has now bought security cameras to deter her neighbours from destroying her vegetable garden in the night.
Another anonymous letter reads: "Dear neighbour. Welcome to the neighbourhood. Your front lawn has looked a mess. The people here take pride in living here.
"It's been weeks of looking at wood chips on your front lawn. Please take a look at other home owner's properties and we take pride in our homes.
"Your house is an eye sore. If you could think of correcting it, everyone would be happy."
The woman shared the letters on Reddit. One user saud: "It's super evident you're doing something intentional, which looks lovely, and it was pretty ballsy of someone to criticise it.
"It would be rude and none of their business to send a note about an unkempt, overgrown law but it's downright mean and hurtful to be saying that about something you've obviously put your work into."
Another user added: "The yard looks great. I have a neighbour a couple blocks from my street and she has a natural yard and I think it’s beautiful. I wish I could do something like it but I’m lazy with the upkeep."
A third user said: "I was picturing a disorganised mess based on the letter and I have to say your garden is one of the nicest eye sores I've ever seen."
