Neighbours mourn 'beautiful' mother as police charge man with her murder

Children in the street left flowers outside a home where a 24-year-old woman was found dead.

Detectives have charged a 24-year-old man with murder over the suspicious death of a woman in Logan, south of Brisbane, as neighbours mourn the "beautiful" mother.

The 24-year-old woman was found at a home in Crestmead about 6:30am yesterday.

It is understood the woman had suffered serious facial injuries, but it was not clear how she died.

Forensic investigators spent the day combing through the home, and detectives have spoken to neighbours.

Suzanne Woodgate lived next door, saying the woman had only lived at the home for four months and had two young children.

Ms Woodgate said their children played together often.

"I know I'm going to miss her very much. Best neighbour I've ever had has been taken away," she said.

Ms Woodgate said the woman was a "beautiful" mother.

"She did everything for those kids, she was the nicest person you'll ever come across," she said.

Children in the street left flowers outside the home and said they wanted their friends to come home.

The Acacia Ridge man has been charged with one count of murder and is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
