Neighbours left scared as forensics and armed police called to incident in Eastwood

Forensics and armed police were called in to investigate an incident in Eastwood - and neighbours were left shaken.

An armed officer was spotted near Woodland Way on Monday, August 23, and a cordon was set up in the area.

More police arrived as the investigation continued - and at least one forensic officer was pictured at the scene.

On Monday afternoon, a spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to Oak Drive, in Eastwood, at 1.50pm following reports of a disturbance.

"Enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident are ongoing."

The spokesman later said enquires were ongoing and that the force would provide an update as soon as possible.

Neighbours reported seeing police helicopter as they spoke of their shock.

A resident of Oak Drive, who asked not to be named, spoke of their shock at the scene.

The neighbour said: “There were two helicopters - [they've] never seen anything as bad as this."

Another resident described feeling on edge, saying: “I only feel safe here because the police are here.

“It’s scary to think it’s happening here on our doorstep - we heard a helicopter."

A third person who had been working night shifts said they were woken up by the commotion.

Armed police had reportedly left the scene just before 4pm.
