Neighbours in Chilwell speak out over police investigation in 'quiet' suburb

Residents living in a "usually quiet" residential street have spoken of their shock amid a police presence there.

Officers were spotted near Ribblesdale Court, a tucked away culdesac off Field Lane in Chilwell, on Monday, November 15.

Police said it was part of an "ongoing investigation".

No more information has been released by the police.

People living nearby say they saw police cars there early on Sunday, November 14, and added there has been an ongoing presence there ever since.

One Ribbesdale Court resident, who didn't want to be named, said: "They were here yesterday morning. I came back home and there was a police car parked outside - I didn’t think anything of it to start with.

"It was early in the morning - around 9ish. There were a lot here at one point, but most of them have left by now.

"They have been here all this time pretty much."

Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I noticed the police cars earlier today when I was coming back home.

"I wasn’t expecting to see them. It’s usually quite quiet around here, not a lot happens. I think it’s a nice place to live, yeah."

"It's definitely out of the ordinary," said another man.

"I have no idea what has gone on. I've been here for a couple of years now, I like it.

"You don't get a lot of people around here because it is quite out of the way."
