Neighbours fuming after 'hundreds' of revellers join 'ridiculously loud' five-hour rave

Bedminster residents have hit out after a "ridiculously loud" early-hours rave allegedly took place near their homes.

People complained on the Paxton Drive neighbourhood Facebook group about a gathering which reportedly involved hundreds of revellers, including fire-twirlers, today (August 17).

One Paxton Drive resident Alex Howe said it happened from 2am until 7am at the skate park near the underpass of Brunel Way.

He said: "It’s been heard in the flats even though the windows are shut and we are about 500 metres away.

"Police were called by myself and two other neighbours between 2am and 7am."

He described the noise as "ridiculously loud acid bass" and claimed some of the ravers were twirling fire poi.

One woman wrote at 4am: "It's doing my head in, can't get back to sleep now."

Another slammed the "horrible bass going right through me".

A third woman commented at 7am: "My husband called the police and they sent someone to stop it.

"We went full 999 in the end just so they would come instantly.

"Although when my husband went over he did say it was only one policeman who was quite intimidated as there were hundreds of people there."

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said he was unable to find any log of the incident.
