Neighbours and Home and Away return to five episodes a week

Australian soaps Neighbours and Home and Away are to return to their normal schedule, with five episodes per week.

Fans have only been able to get their fix twice a week since March, when big changes to soap schedules were made due to the coronavirus.

"As a result of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to reduce the number of episodes for Neighbours and Home and Away from five to two per week for both soaps, so that our viewers can continue to enjoy them for as long as possible," a Channel 5 spokesperson explained at the time.

While Channel Seven (which airs Home and Away in Australia) removed the soap from its schedule.

However, in a matter of weeks things will be going back to normal.

Channel 5 said in a statement: "Neighbours and Home and Away will return to five episodes a week from Monday 11th May, resuming their usual Monday to Friday slots.’

Neighbours is set to resume filming this week, but social distancing rules will be in place for everyone on set.

This includes a no kissing and no holding hands rule.

And actors will have to stand 1.5 metres apart from one another.

Filming dates for Home and Away are yet to be announced.

Both soaps will return back to their normal Monday to Friday schedules from May 11.
