Neighbour's brutal note slams mum for using the car to get her kids to sleep

The art of letter writing has mostly faded out of favour, but sometimes hand delivering your correspondence is the only way to really get your point across. One woman soon realised this when she received a scathing and lengthy note from her disgruntled neighbour, as it's safe to say they didn't hold back.

We've all heard tales of angry neighbours moaning of unsociable noise or parking spot spats, but this complaint related to the mum-of-two's parenting habits. The Australian based mother was so appalled by the judgmental letter that she publicly shared it online - and nothing could have prepared her for what arrived through her letterbox.

The longwinded note begins: "I like most of your neighbours walk past your house a couple of times a day and notice that you have your car running constantly on some days".

"I see your child and sometimes you in the car. While I understand you use the car to soothe or put your child to sleep, I am sure you must understand the damage you are doing to the environment."

The brazen letter insisted the woman should be "a more considerate member of society" before questioning whether the mum cares for her children at all.

"To have a vehicle like yours running for hours daily for no acceptable reason is beyond comprehension," they claimed.

"If you truly cared for your children, you would care about the environment you are leaving them in the long-term, not just your short-term convenience/comfort."

After a brutal takedown, the neighbour then went on to reveal that as a parent, they would never choose to seat their child in a running car for a nap.

"I have raised three children and have never had to resort to driving or using a vehicle to put my children to sleep," they scathed.

"I understand being a parent isn't easy but taking short cuts that damage our planet (the planet you are leaving your children) is not an acceptable course of action by any standard."

The angry neighbour sarcastically signed off their note with the words: "From a neighbour that cares about the environment and our future".

The Sydney-based mum was disgusted by the neighbour's rant, branding the writer as a 'low-life'.

Far from wanting to sit back and accept the criticism, the woman clapped back at the savage letter, saying: "When I find out who this is they are seriously going to regret starting a war with me!"

The frustrated mum went on to justify her actions by explaining it's the only way she can get any sleep while parenting.

"We haven't had one uninterrupted night's sleep in almost six years so we do what we have to do to get a well-earned break."

She continued to explain that her easily drifts off in the car for an hour and a half - but will instantly wake up if she turns the car off.

Desperate to tell her side of the story, the mum-of-two went on to say that she doesn't use her car for three days a week when her son is at daycare.
