Neighbour has 'tremors' as Range Rover rams into house

A Range Rover rammed into a house after being pelted with bricks on a Tuebrook street on Wednesday (March 9).

Footage taken on Glamis Road at around 5.30pm yesterday evening shows two men throwing bricks at the 4x4, while one man is seen on all fours on the car’s bonnet.

The man jumped off the bonnet before the other two threw bricks at the vehicle’s windscreen.

The men then ran towards a house as the car accelerated towards them. It then mounted the pavement, before making off towards Witton Road.

Another clip showed the car driving back down Glamis Road at speed before mounting the pavement again. The two men can be seen continuing to throw bricks at the Range Rover.

The car then performed a U-turn and rammed into the front of the house. It then sped away from the scene, leaving a pile of rubble in the road.

Merseyside Police has confirmed nobody was injured during the incident and no arrests were made.

The car was then found on fire by police on Quarry Road, in Old Swan at around 10.50pm last night.

ECHO readers have had their say about the incident, taking to Facebook and the comments section on our website.

On the ECHO website, Dr Vollin said: “Goodness me. I myself live in the vicinity ( maybe 5 minutes away?) and nearly had tremors myself when I read the story.

“A most unfortunate occurrence which is sadly reflective of the breakdown in civility which blights modern life. I sincerely hope that something like this never happens again.”

User Captain Sensible added: “Sad times and it’s not gonna get any better.”

On Facebook, Sandra Evans said: “What about all the decent people that live in that road?”

Lesley Helm followed a similar theme, adding: “Terrifying for the residents!”

Joanna Hassall said: “What a waste of a car.”

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said they are appealing for witnesses following the incident.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "We are appealing for anyone who was in the Glamis Road area around 5.30pm last night who saw the Range Rover or captured anything significant on dash-cam, mobile phone or doorbell camera to contact us.

"We believe the Range Rover would have suffered damage during the incident and I would ask anyone who may have seen it leaving the area or prior to it being found in the Old Swan area to get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000167122.
