NEW DELHI: A 13-year-old girl is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by her neighbour in the Najafgarh area. The accused has been arrested.
According to police, the incident took place on Monday afternoon when her mother went out of the house for some time. "She told her daughter that she would return in a few minutes. Meanwhile, the accused, who lives near the survivor's house, took the minor to his house and beat her. He later sexually assaulted the girl," an officer said.
"When her mother returned home, she found that the girl was not there. She started searching for her daughter and later found her at a nearby building. She was crying in pain. The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment. The woman later reached the local police station and filed a complaint. A case was registered and the accused arrested from Dwarka," the officer further said.
The girl's father works in a factory and her mother is a housewife.
