'Negotiations are underway' for double Nottingham Forest transfer swoop - report

Promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Algerian midfielder Farid Boulaya.

The 26-year-old currently plies his trade in French football for Metz, and could be set for a switch to the City Ground where he would link up with Sabri Lamouchi.

According to reports in the French media, Forest are keen to add the attack-minded midfielder to their ranks ahead of next Friday’s transfer deadline and are expected to complete a deal in the coming days.

Boulaya, who helped Metz win promotion to Ligue 1 last season has played 15 times this, and is set to join Forest on loan for the remainder of the season with the option to make the move permanent in the summer, it has been claimed.

Forest meanwhile, have agreed a 3-and-a-half-year contract with Cape Verde striker Nuno da Costa, say France Football.

The Reds will pay around €2m for the 28-year-old striker, currently playing for Strasbourg.

Despite continued links to da Costa and numerous other forwards, Reds boss Lamouchi admitted that he didn’t believe there would be a striker arriving at the City Ground before Tuesday’s trip to play-off rivals Brentford.

Speaking after Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw with Reading, Lamouchi said he felt any possible movement may go right down to the wire ahead of next Friday's 11pm deadline.

“I don’t have news," said the Frenchman.

“For me, I think it could be on the last day of the window.

“We have played a lot of games in January without new players. We played tonight without new players. We will play next week, probably, without any new players.

“But we must have more respect for my squad and my players."
